Having your wisdom teeth pulled is something that many people have a general fear of. After hearing all of their parents or friends stories about the pain and problems associated with pulling them out. Now this is really unfortunate as it doesn’t need to be something that one should fear or put off. The best time to go in for an evaluation to see if it is even necessary is between the ages of 16-19. Many dentists recommend that you try to have them pulled ( if necessary) before the age of 20. Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth pulled it depends on a number of factors, have the teeth come through already? is their pain associated with them coming through? and most importantly is their emergence going to cause not only pain but possible overcrowding of your teeth. Overcrowding is to be avoided if possible, when your teeth get too overcrowded from your wisdom teeth coming in it will possibly push all your other teeth out of alignment. This will result in crooked teeth, or gaped teeth for the rest of your life. And without major dental surgery you will be stuck. That is why it is so important to see the dentist for his or her opinion on if you will need them pulled. Usually a quick x-ray and the dentist can evaluate it from there, it doesn’t take long at all and can really save you money, time and stress down the road. Its important that you choose a reputable dental clinic as they will have the ability to judge if its necessary and wont try and sell you on the fact that you need it if you don’t! Choosing a dental clinic doesn’t need to be as painful as having your wisdom teeth pulled, just a quick review of your local ones in google with the search term “review” can bring up lots.
